Ethan Wisminiti Eye of minds James Dashner Page 9 "The moment of pain was short but intense. Everywhere all at once, bursting and exploding through Michael’s every nerve. He didn’t even have time to make a sound before it ended;neither did tanya, because he heard nothing but the distinct and horrific crash of hitting the water's surface." This quote is memorable because of the great words the text uses to explain what is going on in the paragraph so well you can understand what the characters must be feeling at the time. I can picture the them falling from the sky and what they would be thinking.
Scott Zielfelder "Doubt is something to be entertained privately." This quote means that even if people doubt you, let them doubt you. You can laugh and enjoy why they doubt you in private. Show them why they are wrong and what they are doubting too about can easily be achieved mostly if its realistic. People may doubt you, but prove them wrong.

Amanda Wright The Iron Trial Holly Black and Cassandra Clare "...Call you must listen to me. You don't know what you are." These sentences are important because all throughout Call's life up until now, Alastair, Callum's father, has been keeping Call's childhood a secret. In this book and the books to come, he keeps and will keep digging up clues about his past and himself. Alastair can't shield him from the truth forever, especially at the Magisterium.

Coral Brooks Invisibility Andrea Cremer and David Levithen "But thats not the end of the story. It's the beginning...maybe the middle." I think this is an important quote because look at life as a story. You make your own ending, but you're not sure when its going to end. You have to look on the bright side. You don't know if you're in the middle of it or its just the beginning of your story. How far the story goes is your decision. Will the story move on?

Jackson Deely The Rule of Three Eric Walters "It's simple. The way people act, what they believe is wrong or unethical, changes because of the situation." I think that this quote from my book is important because it is useful to the characters throughout the whole story. There are various parts where the characters use this sort of "code." They remember this and make people think that the way they are acting isn't them. When this happens, it opens different opportunities for them to get away with things and survive longer.

Tyler Niswender Loot Jude Watson "No thief likes a full moon. Like mushrooms and owls, they do their best work in the dark." This quote is important because the main characters dad was a thief. It shows how is dad was raising him to be like him and to think like him. Also, if he was raised that way, he might act that way. The darkness is a thief's favorite place. It's where they can do dirty work and not be seen. The full moon may help the thief see, but it will also help the people and the police see them.

Katelyn Russell The Statistical Probability Of Love At First Sight Jennifer E. Smith “Love is the strangest, most illogical thing in the world, ” page 165 I think this quote is important because this whole book is about a 17 year old girl named Hadley, who falls in love for the first time. Hadley was traveling to her father's wedding, which she was not looking forward to at all and it ended up turning out pretty good. One of the reasons Hadley ended up having a great time is because she found love and friendship on her way to the wedding . This quote is important, I believe, because it is saying how things may happen when you least expect it and try to make the best out of every situation. Positive things are able to occur even out of negative situations. It is saying love is one of the weirdest but best situations at the same time. Love is not always planned or predictable.

Elaina Valdez The Rule of Three By, Eric Walters “We can pretend or wish things were different, deny or ignore what’s happening, but that won’t change any of it. Even if the electricity was turned back on today, if all the cars started working tomorrow, and if the water started running from our pipes again, it doesn’t matter because our world will forever be different due to what has happened.” (Pg. 240-241) I think this is a good quote because what the character is saying is true and important because everyone in this story is dealing with the same problems. The power is out and all computers won’t work. So it’s important for them to deal with the problems they all have, start working together, and stop thinking about when everything will start working again because nobody knows or will know.

Shane Cameron Book: Loot (How To Steal A Fortune) Author: Jude Watson Quote: “It was just enough to stand there and shrug at each other at how awful things had turned out. Maybe they were facing disaster. But right now, they were together.” I believe this quote is important to Loot because this quote heavily explains an important point in the books plot. As March and his sister mourn the loss of seven moonstones they non-stop searched for the past week. But they realize even without the hefty payment from the moonstones, they still have each other. This quote also signifies betrayal between March and his aunt and how he will stop at nothing to get those moonstones back. Finally I feel that this quote tells the reader the power and corruption of the seven moonstones and how it split March and his family apart. This quote was definitely memorable and marks easily one of the most important points in the book.

Dante McKenney Unstoppable Tim Green "It was my Devils own temper that brought me grief..." This quote describes what he went through with Mrs. Constable and Mr. Constable and how they were always abusive and mean. Harrison wasn't in total grief, but he was very sad with how he was treated. If it wasn't for Mrs. Kelly and coach, he might of ended up being depressed and in total grief.
Image
Jami Nicols The War That Saved My Life "It had been awful, but I hadn't quit. I had persisted, in battle I had won." I think this quote is memorable because it means that even though she was young and didn't know anything, she had helped the men who were serving her country. It showed that if she can make a difference in that small village, than she might be able to overcome her clubfoot, and even be able to face her mam.

Sam Williams The Mark of the Dragonfly Jaleigh Johnson "There, aren't you pretty?" she said. Pretty? Piper supposed so. If Gee saw her now for the first time, he would never know she was a scrapper. Well, until she opened her mouth. Anyway, wasn't this what she wanted? To shed all the vestiges of the scrap town and her old life? She'd never felt more disconnected from them than she did at this moment. So why did it feel so wrong? I find this quote to be important because it portrays some of the protagonist's emotions and uncertainties. She wants to abandon her old life where she was poor and life felt hopeless, haunted by memories of her late father. But now that she has the chance to do so, she isn't happy.

Abby Glew Invisibility   By Andrea Cremer and David Levithan.   “What if I am?”  he asks. I fold up the empty grocery bag. “Sorry?” “What if I am a ghost?” He leans against the counter, watching me.  “Would you still want to take a walk with me?” Invisibility is about how a boy (Stephen) was cursed and was made invisible nobody can see him.  Although he thought but when a girl moves into the apartment across the hall that is when it all changed. Her name is Elizabeth and she can see him.  They start to get to know each other and Elizabeth asked Stephen if he could show her around the town he was hesitant at first but then she asked him he was a ghost.   I think this important because he is starting to trust her, she is the only person that he can talk because she is the only person that can see him so he knows that she should soon know the truth about him so he is trying to ease into it.  I also think that she believ...

Alexis Call Invisibility Andrea Cremer "I do not exist. And yet I exist." I think this quote is important because it would be very confusing if you haven't read the book. It explains how Stephen lives his life. Just because he is invisible does not mean he doesn't exist. He is a person just like everyone else.

Rylan Connors The Rule of Three   By:Eric Walters Quote: "I know that without you, a whole lot of people we just left behind on the ground wouldn’t be alive. I guess we’ll see how long they’ll still be alive" . (Pg 380) This quote is important to the book because it shows what happens in the book. This book was an apocalyptical sort of book that started with a power outage. This quote is from a conversation between the protagonist and his next door neighbor that onced worked in the embassy. This quote will make people want to read it because it tells people there is action and makes people wonder what happened to the people on the ground.
Image
Corrin Francisco Invisibility Andrea Cremer and David Levithan Pg. 9 Stephen was born invisible.  The quote “She sees me,” is important because there are two sides to a person, the inside and the outside, and he can show that now that Elizabeth, the girl two doors down, can see him.  She thought he was just another person but he knew he wasn’t.  You should remember this because it’s what’s on the inside that counts.

Nathan Warren Loot By: Jude Watson My favorite quote from Loot was, “then find jewels.”  Why this is my favorite is because it is March’s sister and he doesn’t know that yet.
Image
Rayden Weiker The Rule of Three Eric Walters "It won't be the last minute until thirty nine minutes from now." I picked this quote because it reminds me of when I wait until the last minute to do an assignment. I have realized that waiting until the last minute is harder than doing it early. If you wait until the last minute you have to work two times harder and you might not finish, but if you did it early you have time to relax until the due date of the assignment.

Carl Zent The Rule Of Three Eric Walters Quote :   “ For some reason I had a feeling it wasn’t going to be so simple.” Pg. 10 Response :  Pretty much the entire book is based off of foreshadows such as this one.  For example the characters in this book didn’t think it could get much worse when all technology suddenly died forcing them quite suddenly into the 19th century but low and behold a rogue group of the army shows up with RPG’s and other weapons with such degrees of  destruction.  The quote above was the first one of these foreshadows with which Igot the first taste of the plot line of this book thus making it a very important phrase.  Foreshadows are a very important part of literature and though the author may have overused them a tad bit he does show considerable skill in placing them throughout the book.  He keeps you on edge and without foreshadows this book would be completely different and possibly more boring.

Celia Fogarty I Am Malala By Malala Yousafzai with Patricia McCormick Quote: “So, yes, the Taliban have shot me. But they can only shoot a body. They cannot shoot my dreams, they cannot kill my beliefs, and they cannot stop my campaign to see every girl and every boy in school. Millions of people prayed for me, and God spared me. I am still here for a reason, and it is to use my life to help people.”  (p.188) Malala is using her life for other people’s education. This quote shows how important education is to her. It is her dream and even the Taliban could not stop her. After all she’s been through, she has continued to care for the well-being of others, when most people would have became self consumed. Malala is an inspiring soul who fought for what she believed in.

Tom Robbins Mark of The Dragonfly by Jaleigh Johnson “ I didn’t need to be told that. You’re my sister. I don’t want to leave you Piper…  “ This quote is not important because it changes the outcome of the story, or is a cliffhanger or anything like that. This quote is important/memorable because it is just a very nice touch to the story and helps the reader of the book understand the characters better. It shows how Piper and Anna, two main characters in the story feel about each other.

Alysa Emerson I am Malala Author: Malala Yousafzai, and Patricia McCormick Pg. Number: 53 Quote: "I would hold my head high - even if my heart was quaking." This quote isn't just important for Malala, but for everyone going through tough times. Whether it be a test or bullying. This is something to carry throughout life, you must stay strong and keep your head up. I know it can be hard sometimes but trust me it will be worth it in the end. " Even if my heart was quaking." means in Malala's case that she has to make speeches that she might not want to do. She will do them anyway if it means making a change in her world.

Emily Anderson Loot By, Jude Watson "I'd rather calculate the odds and take the risk than wait for fate to fall out of the sky." The point where this sentence was stated in the book, was when March, the main character was thinking to himself about how he was going to get himself and his sister out of the foster home they had been placed in. Being orphans, they had nowhere to go and March didn't know what was going to happen. He had to make a plan. So instead of hoping for fate to do all the work he thought, "I'd rather calculate the odds and take the risk than wait for fate to fall out of the sky." This has a very important message saying that you can't always rely on destiny to get you where you want to be. You have to push yourself and take chances rather than expect fate to take over and make something happen for you. Fate and working for something go hand in hand. If you really want it, you have to try your hardest. Fate may help ...

Nick Kazura Unstoppable Author: Tim Green Page of quote: 23 Quote: " You said to call you ‘Papa.’ Thats a lie." This quote is important because this is when Harrison starts to realize he is stronger than he thinks. So he began to fight back against Mr. Constable, where as before he would just let himself get belted by Mr. Constable. It also lets the story kind of fall into place after that scene. After this confrontation he gets a better life with a new family, which is about ten times better than his last home.

Maggie Keenan  I Am Malala Malala Yousafzai with Patricia McCormick Quote: “If you hit a Talib with your shoe, there is no difference between him and you. You must not treat others with cruelty. You must fight them with peace and dialogue (page 119)” I find this quote in the book very honorable because at the time Malala had just found out about a death threat made by the Taliban (A muslim group from Afghanistan who were against women's rights). She was wondering what she would do if a Talib attacked her. First she thought to hit them with her shoe, but then she felt violence would make her no better than them. This quote shows what Malala stands for and what she fights for. It also shows her peaceful way of change.

Abigail O'Connor The War That Saved My Life By, Kimberly Brubaker Bradley Quote : "You're perfectly capable of learning. You mustn't listen to people who don't know you. Listen to what you know yourself." This quote is important because if someone tells you you can't learn, you can't listen to them. The only persons opinion that matters is yours. You need to listen what you know, not what anyone else thinks. You are capable of doing whatever you think you can do.

DJ Roberts I Am Malala By, Malala Yousafzai, Patricia McCormick Quote: "Day or night, my father’s courage never seemed to waver." I think that this would make a perfect quote because it is talking about someone’s courage that was never to low for anything that they had been through. Malala’s dad has been through a lot and for his courage to be just right, is enough to show her that he wants to be brave for his daughter.

Shannon Foulds Invisibility By, Andrea Cremer "But I don't know when that day will arrive, and it would be too easy to forget to marvel at the beauty in this moment. In every moment." (pg. 358) These few sentences really stood out for me because they were meant to send a message to the reader. I believe this quote is the moral of the story. In Invisibility , there were a lot of complicated problems going on in Stephen and Elizabeth's lives, but when they were together they didn't let what happened outside their relationship ruin the moments they shared together. They didn't let the fact that he was invisible get in the way of their love. All wrapped up into two sentences was the lesson of the story. And to me, that lesson was to always take in the beauty of every minute of your life even if outside that moment life isn't that great. I hope other readers can take away the same value from this quote that I did.

Jarred Pelletier T he Eye of Minds By, James Dashner “You are at the point of no return. The crossroads. Until now, your death would have ended your quest for what lies at the end of the Path, but not your true life.” I think this quote is really important or memorable because it makes Michael realize how dangerous the mission in the VirtNet really is. It shows how dangerous and skilled Kaine really is and all of the things he can do to destroy everything they have been working for. It takes Michael of guard because until then if he died he would just go be transported back home into his coffin.
Zach Walker Quote: " Michael was inside the VirtNet--- the Sleep, to people went in as often as he did. He was used to seeing scared people there. A lot of them. Yet underneath the fear was usually the knowing." I think that this a good quote because it give a brief yet entire overview of the VirtNet. WIthout this quote, it would be harder to understand the inside of the game VirtNet. Without understanding the VirtNet you would have no idea of what is going on in the book. There would be no point! The person would probably just put the book away.

Madison Tortorella- Lewis  The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight By, Jennifer E. Smith Quote: " In the end, it's not the changes that will break your heart; it's that tug of familiarity." (pg. 19) In this book Hadley, the main character, is seeing her dad for the first time in 1 1/2 years to see him get married. I can relate to Hadley because I haven't seen my dad in 1 1/2 years and I'm seeing him in a few days. This quote had be thinking about it throughout the whole book because it's 100% true. I don't really care about the changes when I see my dad. I notice them, but don't mind much. But many things are so familiar when I'm with him and I remember so clearly being with him as a kid doing those things. So this quote is very memorable to me and in a way, it connects me to the main character.

Kitty Ho Invisibility By, Andrea Cremer and David Levithan Quote: "If I cannot tell her the truth, I can tell her a truth." (pg.73) This quote is important because the invisible boy cannot tell the real girl that he is invisible, and that is the biggest truth that he cannot tell her. So, he tried his best to tell her any other truth about her. If he doesn't tell her the truth, the girl will never trust him again. The boy doesn't want to lie to her because he likes her, and she is the only person in the world that can see him, so he thinks he can share all this stuff with her.

Elizabeth Nash Eye of Minds By, James Dashner Quote: "Your demons are always   with you. Don't you understand that by now? Always with you, impossible to escape. But you can never guess how they manifest themselves." I think this quote means that what you have done in your past will always be with you, even if you try to escape it. The mistakes in your past are just mistakes, there is no way you can fix them. The damage is already done. I also think that the last part means the lies you tell will just grow and grow as you try and hide them from others.

Signe' Kula I Am Malala By, Malala Yousafzai Quote: "I could see a future that could be cut down." (p.18) Growing up in a community where women had less overall value than men, and where girls don't need an education, Malala wished for a change. She could see not only her future, but the future of other women being limited to the job of a housewife, because without an education, there were no jobs available. I feel like this would make a great quote. Malala had a more pressing issue. Today a "cut down future" so to speak, could be something as simple as a missed opportunity that could affect you for the better later on, or quitting what you love. Even dropping out of school! However it is figurative too. Figuratively a "cut down future" is stopping something that you are good at. Something not as serious, or making one big mistake. I feel like this term makes more sense explained literally than figuratively, however; with all the...

Audrey Piller The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight By, Jennifer E. Smith Quote:  “There’s always a gap between the burn and the sting of it, the pain and the realization." As one who has felt the meaning of this quote, I believe that it is true. There will always be disappointments in life, and there will always be heartbreaking moments. At funerals when you’re there to say your last goodbyes and you realize, they are really gone and the memories you made with that individual are now only memories and you cannot make any more of them together or talk to them, it's a burden on the shoulders to weigh you down and hurt. The hardest part is loosing them, but the easiest will be remembering them and the happy times you had together. Same with divorces, when your parents spilt so does the family nights, cooking together, daytime outings. All that stuff won’t happen, your mom and dad no longer live in the same house and it’s weird not knowing whos...

Julianna Jameson The Summer I Saved the World in 65 Days By, Michele Weber Hurwitz Quote: " No one sits on the love seat anymore ." (p.4) I think this quote is memorable because Mrs. Chung's husband, Mr. Chung has died a few years ago. Plus, she is kind of upset because no one sees her. Mrs. Chung lives all by herself so no one really sits with her in the love seat. The reason why I think this quote is memorable is because Mrs. Chung really has no one with her.

Sadie Hamel   The Statistical Probability of Love At First Sight By: Jennifer E. Smith Quote: “Each time she got close, the brilliant yellow lights would disappear again, and so when she finally managed to catch one, it seemed almost a miracle, like a jewel in her hand.” (p.121) This is a metaphor about this book. The quote is important because it symbolizes the book. In this part of the story she is remembering when she was little. She did not like to go outside when it's dark. So her parents made her go out and she saw these yellow jewels flying in the the sky (fireflies). Now, when she is older and flying on a plane to her dad and soon to be stepmoms wedding, which she is dreading, Hadley meets a very nice boy around her age and they coincidentally are seated together on the plane, and soon have feelings for each other. So, this quote means something good comes out of everything.

Gabe Black Eye of Minds By, James Dashner Quote: “But something hardened inside him. How could he turn away now? His family had been threatened. His best friends. And he made a promise.. .” (pg. 270) This quote is important because it is a turning point of the protagonist's personality. After this point in the book Michael (the protagonist) becomes more strategic in his encounters with his enemies, and is able to push on no matter what has happened or happening. He realizes secrets/abilities that he never knew he could do, also about his existence in “Life”

Sophia Burke Invisibility By,   Andrea Cremer and David Levithan Quote: " The glass soul falls to the ground and shatters into a thousand words. The invisible boy becomes visible, and all of the sudden, his emotions blast neon . (p.53)" I believe this quote is important because this is when he feels more comfortable with the fact that Elizabeth can see him. This also shows that he starts to have stronger feelings for her. He feels a part of the world and more like a normal visible person at this point. He has lots of mixed emotions about this feeling. It was a new thing that he gets to enjoy. This quote explains his emotions in an unique way.
