Madi Capen Invisibility Andrea Cremer and David Levithan I think the genre of my book is a fantasy and a paranormal because in the book there is a lot of magic and most of it is dark magic.  I really enjoyed reading this book.  I did not expect there to be any magic or fantasy in the book, so it was a nice surprise.  Over the summer, I read the book on a kindle so it did not have page numbers, but it did have sections.  In section 274 out of 3993, the authors were writing in the point of view of a boy named Stephen and they said,  "I must act normal. Not the normal of my own life, but the normal I've witnessed in everybody else's."           I think this is an important thought to the book because he has not been normal for one second of his life. Nobody has ever made eye contact with him or had a normal conversation. He has only witnessed "normal" in other people's lives. He has not done anyth...

Jacob Lachance The War That Saved My Life By:Kimberly Brubaker Bradley Page:23 Quote: "We’d escaped. Mam, Hitler’s bombs, my one-room prison. Everything. Crazy or not, I was free." I think this quote is memorable because you can tell how hard the protagonistes (Ada) life was and how it is all gone all the things that were making her scared and afraid and how it got better for her. You learn she was going through a rough life and her mom and room where as bad as Hitler bombing them. When she says she is now free and it might seem weird to people but they didn’t know what all the rough times ada was going through.

Kiersten Ranfos Book: Unstoppable Author: Tim Green Quote: “ Believe in the incredible and you can achieve the impossible. ” Page #:212 The quote “ Believe in the incredible and you can achieve the impossible ” inspires me because it makes me think ahead and look at my future in school and sports. Ever since I read this quote it has been very memorable to me. It makes me set goals in life and achieve them. The main character Harrison had to amputate his knee down because he has cancer in his knee. Harrison had to battle through it, knowing that he couldn’t play football for awhile. Harrisons coaches had always thought he was unstoppable even when he lost half of his leg. Harrison was Unstoppable. Once you start hearing one thing about yourself you start to believe it.

Tucker Little The Rule of Three Eric Walters "And remember, we're all civilized people, and the best way to care for your family is to respect other people's rights to care for their families." This quote is important because it tells people that other people's lives are important and you cannot always think that your families life is the only one that matters. Also, that peoples lives are more important than what some people think. Some people as well think that they are the best person in the world.

Lily Farley The Eye of Minds James Dashner "Feeling utterly helpless, he leaned as close to the railing as he could and continued to watch what was happening below him. And to his horror, he saw that the man- no the Tangent- was looking directly at him." I believe this quote is memorable because of the way it so perfectly expresses the fear that Michael was feeling at the moment. The author uses great words that express the characters emotions.

Natalie Harris Mark of the Dragonfly Jaleigh Johnson "This is where you belong, an inner voice whispered to her. Where you've always belonged." This sentence is important because it makes Piper finally have an idea of where she wants to be for the rest of her life. She knows that she wants to stay on the 401 (an important train) and be a crew member with her friends. When Piper thinks of this she knows that she will be happy forever.

Jacob Jordan The Rule of Three       " It was almost hard to believe all of what happened, and was still happening. or, really, what wasn’t happening. The  Area outside our doors was shut down. No, that was wrong. It wasn’t just the area outside our doors-it was the whole country, maybe the entire world ."                                                     I think this sentence is memorable  because it sums up the character Adam’s thoughts. Three days prior what he thought was a minor power outage has turned into something more. Adam is realizing that this isn't just a minor problem but much bigger and he is finally starting to realize this.   ...

Sophia Venetos The Rule of Three By: Eric Walters Quote: “ Of course I knew some of the kids from school or soccer or baseball, but I was almost shocked by how few people I did know when it came right down to it. And it wasn’t just people a street or two over, but neighbors right on my street whom I’d never gotten to know before this.” (pg. 121) I think that this quote is memorable because it shows that you never really get to know, or even meet the people around you since everyone has a busy everyday life. In The Rule of Three the main character, Adam realizes this after a disaster strikes. Where all things that depend on a computer don’t . work anymore and that leads to a bunch of outbursts. So each community has to stick together and people start to get to know each other. This quote illustrates that a tragedy can bring people together.
Image
James Noble Rule of Three Eric Walters "Desperate and ruthless times call for desperate and ruthless measures." This quote is important because it means when things are hard, you need to make ruthless measures to either survey or stay with it.

Lauren Rose Eye of Minds James Dashner "Be careful of Kaine. He's not who you think." This quote is a turning point in the story. When Michael hears these words, it changes the story because the whole time before this he just assumed that Kaine was a regular guy that had amazing hacking and coding skills. After this, Michael starts figuring out who Kaine actually is and understands the reasoning behind his plans.

Hayleigh McNeil Loot , Jude Watson Page 38 "An airport was the loneliest place in the world if you didn't have a home."   In the book Loot , by Jude Watson, the main character March loses his father after he fell to his death. When he and his sister gets put into the foster care system they travel across the world to go to a foster home they feel more alone than they ever had. The word home to a lot of people means where your family is. Without any family you can't have a home. I think that because their father and mother had died that it was impossible for the kids to ever feel like it wasn't lonely without their family.

Carlson Hill   Mark Of The Dragonfly Author: Jaleigh Johnson Page #: 56 Quote: "Whether the stories were true or not, Piper thought the 401 was a heavy, stern looking, capable old girl-one who'd seen practically every corner of Solace-and Piper envied the big train and everyone who had ever traveled on her. Her crew had seen more of the world than Piper was ever likely to." Why I think the quote is important : I think the quote is important because Piper doesn't know it yet, but she ends up being able to ride and work on the 401 train. One part that particularly jumped out at me was when it said "Her crew had seen more of the world than Piper was ever likely to", because she ends up seeing the world like she wanted to.

Caitlin Bergeron Invisibility Andrea Creamer  Pg 72 "I am finding it harder and harder to concentrate on myself when I am around her." I think that quote is memorable because Stephan the main character was thinking the quote because he finally found a girl Elizabeth that can see him. Elizebeth is caring to Stephan. She spends time with him so that he is not alone. It took his mind off himself and gave him something to focus on. He was always focused on being invisible that now he doesn't have to think about it.

Sierra Eaton The Eye Of Minds James Dashner " Micheal tried to speak but couldn't.Tried to move but was paralyzed. Fear surged through every last inch of him. And then a voice spoke from the  blinding ball of light, throbbing with each word. And it was terrifying. "My name is Kaine" it said "And I see all." Whatever had paralyzed Micheal didn't release its hold  on him." This Quote is very memorable and important in very many ways, to the book/story line and also the characters. This quote is important to the story line, because now  Micheal and his friends know how much power Kaine has. Kaine is a very powerful hacker like they haven't seen before. Kaine has the power to control them, and their minds,   but is Micheal and his friends going to be able to over power him ? this quote is also very memorable because this is the first time Kaine has shown them how powerful he really is,   so now they know what there up against...

Abby Clark Loot by Jude Watson “You’re twins” “The kind that don't look alike. Is that fraternal or … whats that other word?” “Doomed” julia asked. I thought that this was a good quote because the moonstone stealer in the book didn't know that they were twins although they are identical. This told me that the moonstone stealer didn't pay much attention to the foster children that she has. this gave me the reason to like this quote because the book made more sense once i realized how bad of a person she really was this led me to understand that the sweet woman she seemed like wasn't true. they always said don't judge before you know how they really are and i did which ended up helping me.

Philip D'Eon The Eye of Minds by:James Dashner Quote on page 289 “You won't understand the magnitude of what i've set in motion until you have experienced it yourself. It can't possibly be explained in words alone.” -Kain Paragraph: I think that what Kain is saying is that the protagonist has no idea of what he is about to get himself into, and has no idea how important he is in the grand scheme of things. It turns out that the Protagonist was actually a computer programed person but only the creators of the game and Kain knew he was a computer program.Even the protaganist belived that he was real.By the end of the book I found out that Kain sets in motion to kill real people and to have the computer programs take over the bodies.

Lindsey Mount Book Title : Invisibility Author: Andrea Cremer & David Levithan Quote: “ I am like a ghost who’s never died. ” This quote is important to the book because, it is showing how Stephen the main character in Invisibility has been feeling his entire life. He has been robbed of compassion and the feeling of love after his mother passed and his father has been gone since he was a young boy. He is all alone in the huge city of New York.    As the quote said he is a ghost who’s never gone through the pain of dying.  Stephen moves around does almost anything and no one knows he is ever there, he passes people hearing their conversations, he sits at a park bench just watching people pass completely oblivious that he is there with them. Everyday he has the question in the back of his head “if i did die, no one can see me? so no one would even notice if i was gone.”  He has come to terms with his curse of being invisible to the outsid...

Jamison Flanagan The War That Saved My Life Kimberly Brubaker Bradley “My room was a prison. I could barely stand the heat and the Quiet and the emptiness.” So Ada is the protagonist and she is telling the story of how she defied the incredible odds. So Ada has a Clubfoot and her abusive mother bullies her about it all the time. She locks Ada in a Cabinet for a whole night, Beats her till she bleeds and, starves her at times. until one unexpected thing saves her in a fatal chain reaction...

Evi Fischer The Eye of Minds By: James Dashner Quote - “ A knife is a godsend for a man tied in ropes, death to a man in chains. ” This particular quote is important to me because it saying there are many paths in life and depending on the choices and decisions you make. You can find the outcome of those choices either good or bad or neither, depending on making the right choices or not. When I stumbled across this quote in my book the protagonist was about to open a door to lead him somewhere and this person was warning him not to.

Lauren Veno Unstoppable By: Tim Green Major Bauer says “believe in the incredible and you can achieve the impossible,” because he loves it and he really wanted to inspire Harrison to get back out on the field. This quote is very memorable because it motivated Harrison to keep up his hard work and do well. The way Harrison takes it into his mind when the Major says it to him will decide how he wants his future to be. Everyone called harrison unstoppable which is why Tim Green chose that as a title. Harrison was once unstoppable and he can be again.

Bode Harmon Eye of Minds Author:James Dashner Quote: " Some people are just weak. " Page:4 The quote at first did not mean anything to me or the when I read it but while I was getting near the end of the book it made more sense. How the quote means something to the book is he says the quote right he tries to make a girl to rethink why she wants to commit suicide. She jumps because Kaine got into her head.He says it because even though he tried to stop her she did it anyways be she was not as strong to fight Kaine away mentally. The man who says the quote is the main character Michael .

Will Graff Rule of Three Eric Walters "This time, it turned out to be nothing. Some hunters wandering close to our perimeter in their search for food. But I knew it wouldn't be long before that "something" happened. I just didn't know what or when-today, tomorrow, a week from now- but it was coming." I believe that in "The Rule of Three", many important themes are demonstrated in the use of character thought and dialogue. The quote from "The Rule of Three", by Eric Walters, on page 275; "This time, it turned out to be nothing. some hunters wandering close to our perimeter in their search for food. But I knew it wouldn't be long before that "something" happened. I just didn't know what or when-today, tomorrow, or a week from now- but it was coming." The main theme being Survival, which evokes a lot of emotion in our basic instincts; sets the tone and overall emotional very well. This makes f...

Trevor Thompson Eye of Minds   By James Dashner "There is only one way to explain it, and that is simply this: You were once a Tangent, a program created by mankind to be used by mankind. Now you are a human yourself." Page 304 I think this quote is important because it shatters Michael's life completely. He finds out his parents weren't real, Helga wasn't real, and his whole life until now wasn't real. This is something he will never forget because he now lives in a real person's body he stole. This quote was just so shocking and groundbreaking that he didn't know what to do with his life after except for the one thing they were trying to do; stop Kaine.

Megan Frost Title of book: The Mark of the Dragonfly Author: Jaleigh Johnson Page Number: 264 Quote: " Piper gripped the iron railing tighter. She was tired of feeling sorry for herself. If having this magical talent meant she could help the 401’s crew, well, that was worth exploring. " I chose this quote from the book The Mark of the Dragonfly by Jaleigh Johnson because it really ties into one of the main themes; finding yourself and who you really are . Throughout the story, the protagonist, Piper, discovers the gifts of her magical talent. She is a synergist, which means she can somehow tell machines what to do and she can easily mend them if they become broken. At first, Piper sees herself as a monster for having such an odd and unique talent. Later, she realizes that having this power comes in handy when she finds out a secret about her friend, Anna, who will need Piper’s help when trouble finds its way into this fictional, fun tale about friends...

Ethan Wisminiti Eye of minds James Dashner Page 9 "The moment of pain was short but intense. Everywhere all at once, bursting and exploding through Michael’s every nerve. He didn’t even have time to make a sound before it ended;neither did tanya, because he heard nothing but the distinct and horrific crash of hitting the water's surface." This quote is memorable because of the great words the text uses to explain what is going on in the paragraph so well you can understand what the characters must be feeling at the time. I can picture the them falling from the sky and what they would be thinking.
Scott Zielfelder "Doubt is something to be entertained privately." This quote means that even if people doubt you, let them doubt you. You can laugh and enjoy why they doubt you in private. Show them why they are wrong and what they are doubting too about can easily be achieved mostly if its realistic. People may doubt you, but prove them wrong.

Amanda Wright The Iron Trial Holly Black and Cassandra Clare "...Call you must listen to me. You don't know what you are." These sentences are important because all throughout Call's life up until now, Alastair, Callum's father, has been keeping Call's childhood a secret. In this book and the books to come, he keeps and will keep digging up clues about his past and himself. Alastair can't shield him from the truth forever, especially at the Magisterium.

Coral Brooks Invisibility Andrea Cremer and David Levithen "But thats not the end of the story. It's the beginning...maybe the middle." I think this is an important quote because look at life as a story. You make your own ending, but you're not sure when its going to end. You have to look on the bright side. You don't know if you're in the middle of it or its just the beginning of your story. How far the story goes is your decision. Will the story move on?
Image
Jackson Deely The Rule of Three Eric Walters "It's simple. The way people act, what they believe is wrong or unethical, changes because of the situation." I think that this quote from my book is important because it is useful to the characters throughout the whole story. There are various parts where the characters use this sort of "code." They remember this and make people think that the way they are acting isn't them. When this happens, it opens different opportunities for them to get away with things and survive longer.
Image
Tyler Niswender Loot Jude Watson "No thief likes a full moon. Like mushrooms and owls, they do their best work in the dark." This quote is important because the main characters dad was a thief. It shows how is dad was raising him to be like him and to think like him. Also, if he was raised that way, he might act that way. The darkness is a thief's favorite place. It's where they can do dirty work and not be seen. The full moon may help the thief see, but it will also help the people and the police see them.

Katelyn Russell The Statistical Probability Of Love At First Sight Jennifer E. Smith “Love is the strangest, most illogical thing in the world, ” page 165 I think this quote is important because this whole book is about a 17 year old girl named Hadley, who falls in love for the first time. Hadley was traveling to her father's wedding, which she was not looking forward to at all and it ended up turning out pretty good. One of the reasons Hadley ended up having a great time is because she found love and friendship on her way to the wedding . This quote is important, I believe, because it is saying how things may happen when you least expect it and try to make the best out of every situation. Positive things are able to occur even out of negative situations. It is saying love is one of the weirdest but best situations at the same time. Love is not always planned or predictable.

Elaina Valdez The Rule of Three By, Eric Walters “We can pretend or wish things were different, deny or ignore what’s happening, but that won’t change any of it. Even if the electricity was turned back on today, if all the cars started working tomorrow, and if the water started running from our pipes again, it doesn’t matter because our world will forever be different due to what has happened.” (Pg. 240-241) I think this is a good quote because what the character is saying is true and important because everyone in this story is dealing with the same problems. The power is out and all computers won’t work. So it’s important for them to deal with the problems they all have, start working together, and stop thinking about when everything will start working again because nobody knows or will know.

Shane Cameron Book: Loot (How To Steal A Fortune) Author: Jude Watson Quote: “It was just enough to stand there and shrug at each other at how awful things had turned out. Maybe they were facing disaster. But right now, they were together.” I believe this quote is important to Loot because this quote heavily explains an important point in the books plot. As March and his sister mourn the loss of seven moonstones they non-stop searched for the past week. But they realize even without the hefty payment from the moonstones, they still have each other. This quote also signifies betrayal between March and his aunt and how he will stop at nothing to get those moonstones back. Finally I feel that this quote tells the reader the power and corruption of the seven moonstones and how it split March and his family apart. This quote was definitely memorable and marks easily one of the most important points in the book.
