"An airport was the loneliest place in the world if you didn't have a home."
In the book Loot, by Jude Watson, the main character March loses his father after he fell to his death. When he and his sister gets put into the foster care system they travel across the world to go to a foster home they feel more alone than they ever had. The word home to a lot of people means where your family is. Without any family you can't have a home. I think that because their father and mother had died that it was impossible for the kids to ever feel like it wasn't lonely without their family.
