Book Title : Invisibility
Author: Andrea Cremer & David Levithan

Quote: “ I am like a ghost who’s never died.

This quote is important to the book because, it is showing how Stephen the main character in Invisibility has been feeling his entire life. He has been robbed of compassion and the feeling of love after his mother passed and his father has been gone since he was a young boy. He is all alone in the huge city of New York.    As the quote said he is a ghost who’s never gone through the pain of dying.  Stephen moves around does almost anything and no one knows he is ever there, he passes people hearing their conversations, he sits at a park bench just watching people pass completely oblivious that he is there with them. Everyday he has the question in the back of his head “if i did die, no one can see me? so no one would even notice if i was gone.”  He has come to terms with his curse of being invisible to the outside world, knowing no one but those two people who are gone in his life knows he exists. It is a metaphor showing how horrible this is to him that death would be a better option than living a life where he can feel nothing and never experience holding someones hand or hugging them, feeling the warmth of a presence other than his own. This quote is important because no one but himself knows what he is feeling throughout this whole curse. Just wishing he could have someone instead of always being alone in the huge city he calls his home.
