Maggie Sylvester
"Spend some time with your mother. Boys come and go, but mothers are forever."
I chose this quote because throughout the book, the protagonist grows further away from her mother because of a new boy. In the book, it's a big deal since the main character has never talked to anybody but her mother. This also applies to the real world, since teenagers drift further away from their mothers. They may not realize it, but mothers/parents are more important than their love life.
