“Because what’s the point of going to school, or playing outside, or anything, really, if we’re just insignificant little beings in one lonely corner of a vast and uncaring universe? That kind of thinking really doesn’t do you any good.” p.6

I think that this quote is important because it explains how even though we know that eventually, this Earth will be uninhabitable we still make the most out of our days. Adding to this thought people try to live their days as happy as they can. But in the beginning, they explain how our lives are basically inconsequential and no matter how we live them the world will end and it doesn’t even matter. But in the last line, it announces that it's not a very way of thinking. Implying that really it does matter and even though that may be true, who really cares?
