“You the golden boy, you got the ticket." pg.229.

This is a turning point in the story were the main character Bully has to finally face his fears.  Bully has got the winning lottery ticket in his possessions which puts a real target on his back.  In this scene Bully has to face his fears of losing lottery to the one person he despises most Janks, who collects tax money from poor people including Bully.  Bully learns the life lesson actions speak louder than words he starts off pleading for Janks not to steal his lottery ticket, then he decides to take action rather than plead for mercy.  So he takes out Janks and runs away for him.  In my opinion this is the turning point for Bully when he finally sees himself as an equal to others, and that he is a human being too.
