"I was sure everyone was looking at me; I could practically feel it. Everyone noticing that I was standing alone, out of place and friendless." p.66

This quote is important to me because personally this is one of my biggest fears. Being a new student to Barrington Middle School, the quote really hit home because it is one of the things I am most afraid of. It made me think about how I'm not the only one who has gone through or is afraid of something like this. It is not only important to me, but to the book because at this point in the book, she not only learns how to be on her own, but she finds her new best friends.
