Strike Three You're Dead, By Josh Berk
Quote: "No one gets killed in the suburbs. I say this out loud, more to myself than anyone else. I keep saying it. Over and over, like the words might form a shield to protect me." (p.1)
I think this quote is important because it starts off the book. It gets the reader hooked right off. It leaves the reader wondering if there was a murder or someone dies right at the beginning of the book, making the reader want to read more and find out what happened.
