Muckers Reading Quote
Muckers Quote(pg.84):
“Time never gives me more when I need it. It just keeps getting away, snuffing itself out like a dying candle. Like it’s some sort of game, handing me way too much when I could care less- like when I’m alone and wanting to be with someone I can’t, but not giving me enough when I am.”
- Felix O’Sullivan
I believe this quote is memorable because quotes are designed to give advice, advocacy, or caution about something that someone has discovered or learned throughout their life. Quotes can really help you to learn from another person’s mistakes, so that way you can avoid them in real life. Felix O’ Sullivan’s quote gave me advice about time and how he learned that time is a very valuable and scarce thing in life. Felix also described life as a game which seems whenever he’s alone it appears like he has all the time in the world, but when he’s with someone like his high school crush, Angie, time seems limited. Felix compared time to a dying candle. A lit candle can’t stop melting just like you can’t stop time from passing. I learned from this quote that I should treasure the good times with my family and friends and live life to the fullest.
