Quote ;" I just worried. I worried that Mal regretted his decision to come after me. I worried about the impossibility of finding the stag in the vastness of Tsibeya. but more than anything, i worried about what the darkling might do if Mal and i were captured."
I think this quote was especially important to the story because it reminds the reader of all the sacrafices Mal and Alina had made in order to accomplish what they have and it reminds you that though the Darkling seemed so charming and helpful that he is actually a great evil conflict that will come and ruin what seems like could be a succesful escape( haha i don't see why they didn't suspect it from the beginning.. I mean his name is The Darkling ). And also , looking back , i read the quote differently. Both in a different tone and mindset. I realized that at that moment in the book Alina did know what would happen if all of those things she worried about came true, it was just not revealed until it actually happened.
