Falling Kingdoms By Morgan Rhodes
Quote: "He would keep it buried deep in his chest until the fiery pain left ashes where his heart once was." (page 104)
I think this quote resembles the two main types of fiery pain that are kept in the heart, love and death. The murders and deaths in this book are driven by power to see who will rule the whole kingdom, leaving the ones who lost in the war with a burning hole in their heart where death has taken its toll. It is possible for love to fill part of the hole, yet for some it only made it burn a little bigger. Romances were forbidden, frowned upon, or unwanted by the so called "lovers." And when these two pains merge together, there is one thing they can be sure of: in the end kingdoms will fall.
