Prisoner B-0387: By, Alan Gratz

Quote: "I shook with helplessness and rage, but also with fear. This was what fighting back earned you. More abuse, More death." (page 76)

I think that this quote is memorable and important to the book because at this point in the story Yanek's views of his imprisonment in the Nazi concentration camps and his methods of survival change. He realizes that there is no hope for him to force his own survival through independent action. He must instead focus on surviving by doing as he is told and remaining an anonymous prisoner rather than distinguishing himself, which would surely get him killed. He must tolerate the harsh treatment and back-breaking labor in order to evade death until the Allies free him and his fellow prisoners from the Nazis. This quote marks a turning point in Yanek's overall attitude, and, in turn the mood of the entire story.

What I can’t regret is the way I got so free and clear.” pg. 173 This was said in by the main protagonist, Chase Ambrose, in the book Restart, written by Gordon Korman. This quote was him talking about how he got out of trouble. There was trouble in the band room and he accidentally bashed a kid in the head with a fire extinguisher in the midst of a fight. So Chase got out of trouble and regretted that. That’s why I think it’s memorable. In the book, Restart , by Gordon Korman, the main character loses all of his memory after falling off of his roof.Then, Chase becomes a whole different person. This quote talks about how Chase got out of trouble from accidentally bashing a kids on their head with a fire extinguisher. And it bothers him that he got no punishment. I

Christopher Caswell "There's only one me." Chase Ambrose pg. 223 I like this quote because it shows Chase taking credit for the actions of his past self.Chase used to be a bully, trouble maker, and a criminal. But since his fall off his roof, he's changed. He's a nicer person, and he feels guilty about what he did in the past. But he takes responsibility for it. That's why I like this quote. At this Moment in the book he's admitting to the character Mr. Solway that he stole his medal of honor. He also didn't drag his two former friends down with him, even though they tried their best to keep him from returning it.
