Strike 3, You're Dead By, Josh Berk

Quote: "I was running. I was rounding the bases. Except that I was not headed for home. I was leaving it." (page 89)

I really like this passage because it's ironic. Josh Berk, the author, uses homophones so creatively. It (the passage) has multi-purpose words. His words are complex. In parts of the book, the words just threw me off. At the conclusion, he kept me wondering. He is so good at word play, he kept me engaged in the book.

Laila Vazifdar “Orange sparks stream through a gap in the door as the car slams into the side of the shat with a terrible scraping, grinding sound." p.128 The quote is important because it describes the first part of the 9/11 attacks and what someone who was inside the building would have experienced. What I can’t regret is the way I got so free and clear.” pg. 173 This was said in by the main protagonist, Chase Ambrose, in the book Restart, written by Gordon Korman. This quote was him talking about how he got out of trouble. There was trouble in the band room and he accidentally bashed a kid in the head with a fire extinguisher in the midst of a fight. So Chase got out of trouble and regretted that. That’s why I think it’s memorable. In the book, Restart , by Gordon Korman, the main character loses all of his memory after falling off of his roof.Then, Chase becomes a whole different person. This quote talks about how Chase got out of trouble from accidentally bashing a kids on their head with a fire extinguisher. And it bothers him that he got no punishment. I

Christopher Caswell "There's only one me." Chase Ambrose pg. 223 I like this quote because it shows Chase taking credit for the actions of his past self.Chase used to be a bully, trouble maker, and a criminal. But since his fall off his roof, he's changed. He's a nicer person, and he feels guilty about what he did in the past. But he takes responsibility for it. That's why I like this quote. At this Moment in the book he's admitting to the character Mr. Solway that he stole his medal of honor. He also didn't drag his two former friends down with him, even though they tried their best to keep him from returning it.
